For 30 years we have been clients of web servers and they have served us well. As a client we can submit orders to the servers to buy and sell, and we can even post our thoughts and experiences on social media.

Yet the Web has its limits.

To the server, you exist as a client at a moment in time, as one client on one server. Furthermore, your existence is known only to that server and it can keep track of everything you share in order to monetize that information by splashing up advertisements and selling data about you to third parties.

The time has come to acknowledge the limitations of client-server architecture and the Internet. There are pressing needs to be able to securely manage your identity and control your data and information.

IoT devices are tethered to the internet without any form of registration, tracking and in many case without any security.

Every person, place and thing needs a Digital ID in order to be identified, credentialed and to operate in the extended digital, physical, biological and conceptual worlds.

A framework is needed to manage things across the physical, digital and biological spheres.  And we need Thing to Thing connectivity to manage things.
